I have to say that when I read this story, my reaction was I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of something like this before. I also really love the idea that a large group of visitors to our city would take the initiative to do this, benefitting not just their own group but the residents and workers in downtown Milwaukee. Well done! And I love this quote from the story: "My family and I saw all that were coming to Milwaukee and thought what a nice opportunity to clean and give [visitors] the best possible view of the city."

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen such an overwhelmingly positive reaction to a celebrity’s death as I have with Dolly Parton’s passing this week. To be as successful a musician as she was but for most of the legacy people are talking about be her humanitarian efforts, truly gives a blueprint for how any of us should aspire to live. She even left an impact on a child in Milwaukee back in 1990.

Admittedly, this is more of a request than a recommendation. On Point Taken, we’ve spent a considerable amount of airtime talking about the impact of social media on our mass culture. I noticed it myself when I realized one night I was doomscrolling (mostly politics) and wasting hours I could have used to be more productive. I changed my behavior, started tracking my screen time, and just basically turned off my technology in the evening hours. I’m not saying it’s the only answer to what ails us, but I do think it gives you the opportunity to refresh your life experience.
